There’s no question that entrepreneurs must find methods to stay motivated. That’s because coming up with ways to solve problems in a creative way requires so much of our energy.
Oh sure, there will be those days when feel like the almighty conqueror who can do it all and do it well. And yet, there will be those days when it’s becomes a monumental struggle just to roll out of bed.
As a result of those “bad days,” it’s so critical to have a back-up plan in place to help you stay motivated. With no motivation, you will most likely come to a standstill and that’s definitely not good for the growth and development of a business.
However, there is good news. There are viable ways for you to keep yourself pumped and primed to take care of the daily tasks involved in putting together a profitable business enterprise. Here are a few tips:
Connect with like-minded people who know what it takes to succeed in business
Why? It’s important because we tend to be strongly influenced by those people we spend a lot of our time with. If you make a habit of associating with folks who aren’t interested in improving themselves, chances are that you’re not going to “feel pushed” to do what it takes to make life better for yourself.
As an entrepreneur, you will certainly serve as your own source of motivation. But that can be a taxing experience. However, you’ll find that you must find a means to draw on some positive inspiration.
So, how does one actually go about discovering this positive inspiration? Help is a lot closer than you might think. It’s a matter of expanding your network to include people who can help bring out the best in you.
- Social networks such as Twitter and LinkedIn can provide you with countless options. For example, choose somebody on these networks that you would like to connect with and reach out to them with a question or a request for help in a particular area. People are typically very responsive when someone asks for their assistance.
- You can also use your social network connections to help you find a mentor. By reaching out and establishing personal relationships, you’re in a better position to find that person who can help you maximize your potential.
- One note of caution. Don’t approach these new relationships with the idea of “how much can you do for me?” It is a two-way street. So, you’re best served by adding value back to the relationship. In other words, don’t be shy about “paying it forward.” Be willing to be of help in any way you can.
Please do not put self-imposed limits on what your capabilities are
Believe it or not, we create “our own reality” based on our words and our thoughts. When you have those inner conversations — and admit it, we all do – keep it positive. If not, you will never accomplish what you set out to do.
In other words, if you decide that it’s impossible for you to succeed as an entrepreneur, it will never happen. That’s because the negative tone of that thought will prevent you from doing what’s necessary to achieve the desired results. In that case, you have virtually programmed yourself for failure.
Motivation is all about your state of mind.
You must continue to challenge yourself
Do not underestimate the value of continuing to challenge yourself. When you do that, you can avoid feeling like you’re in a rut. New challenges give us the opportunities to grow and develop to our fullest potential.
You can start doing this by looking at the biggest challenge you’re facing now. Think about it, then come up with a workable plan to beat the challenge.
Maybe you don’t feel like you have any major challenges right now. If that’s the case, make it your challenge to find a challenge to work on and overcome.
